How to Check the Battery on a BlackBerry

April 5th, 2010

blackberry-post3 It’s important to know when your battery is dying and when it is full on your BlackBerry. If you tend to use more applications and data on the phone than average, you may need to charge the phone more often. If you barely touch the phone, you may have to charge it less often. It’s always a good idea to have a wall charger, car charger and a USB/mini USB cable in your home, car or travel case just in case the phone needs to be charged in any situation.

Step 1: Press any key to take your BlackBerry out of standby mode.

Step 2: Enter your security password if you created one.

Step 3: View the battery icon on the homescreen.

Step 4: Determine if the battery needs to be charged. If the battery icon is full then the battery life is at its fullest. If it’s empty and glowing red, then it needs to be charged right away.

Tips & Warnings

Check your phone’s battery icon if you notice the LED on the phone is flashing red or amber.
