BBM Music Updated To Version 1.0.0.93 In BlackBerry Beta Zone

BBM Music Updated To Version 1.0.0.93 In BlackBerry Beta Zone   Now Allows 200 Contacts!

Members of the BBM Music beta program in the BlackBerry Beta Zone should have received a message to update their app over the weekend. Version 1.0.0.93 of the beta is now available for download and includes a few changes, the increase in amount of contacts being a popular request. Here’s the changelog:

  • Stop button in media player (you asked for it!)
  • Buy button now checks for available music store if none is installed
  • Improved performance: limit is raised to 200 contacts!!!
  • Many various bug fixes

Besides for these changes there are still a bunch of “known issues” RIM is working to fix so don’t expect it to be perfect just yet.

BlackBerry DevCon to Bring PlayBook OS 2.0, QNX Smartphone Demos

Today we learn that the BlackBerry Developers Conference kicks off on October 18th and it sounds like we will have some very exciting new things to play with. Now we would like to share it with you. During the Investors Call today the RIM execs talked about some upcoming software updates for the PlayBook, the future of QNX smartphone OS, and the BlackBerry Video Store. I’m very excited to hear RIM say that working prototypes of the QNX Smartphones will be showcased shortly.

Quick Notes:

  • PlayBook OS v2.0 – Native Email and PIM to be shown at DevCon and launch shortly after
  • QNX Smartphone OS to be showcased in the close future, with working prototypes
  • BlackBerry Video Store to launch for PlayBook with 10,000 movies and TV shows for purchase and rental
  • A lot of planned announcements for DevCon, including Developer Apps for QNX, and developer handsets to get use to the platform

BlackBerry Playbook Tablet OS 2.0 Details

Today i  just read the news about RIM’s Q2 2012 earnings call. It says that something deserved some spotlight, that being Tablet OS 2.0 for the BlackBerry PlayBook. RIM made details for Tablet OS 2.0 official and said the launch will happen in the coming months. Here’s a bit of what the new version will include:

  • Built-in native email and PIM
  • Robust enterprise features like BlackBerry Balance
  • Android App player
  • BlackBerry Video store with 10,000 movies, TV shows to buy, rent, same-day release as DVD and HDMI output to a TV
  • New gaming, major media and productivity apps

Tablet OS 2.0 for the PlayBook will be demoed at DevCon next month so expect to see more details and maybe some photos/video soon!

Today we leaned that RIM has recently released the BBM Music Service which allows you to have 50 songs in the cloud for $5 per month. Recently, MyMusicCloud has announced a freemium cloud-based music service that could be a good alternative. Continue reading after the jump.

What is this thing? A BlackBerry 9980?

Today i learned from a Chinese website maxpda.com which appeared an article showing a mysterious BlackBerry 9980. It seems to be some variant of the BlackBerry Bold 9900, yet the design is very different. I don’t want to use the word “ugly”, but the design is not for everyone.

Whether this is a genuine BlackBerry Device or some fake model, we don’t know. According to the information available, the supposed BlackBerry 9980 is just a BlackBerry Bold 9900 in a completely new design. The battery is the same as the Bold 9900′s and this new device also runs on BlackBerry OS 7. Here are a few more pictures:

How To Hide Pictures from BlackBerry Smartphone

Today i learned something about that how to hide pictures from your BlackBerry. Now i would like to share with you. If you want to take BlackBerry security up a notch and protect your files, such as your pictures, you can actually hide them in your BlackBerry device. In this tutorial, I am going to teach you how to hide/unhide pictures on your BlackBerry Smartphone through the device memory.

BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 & BlackBery 6:

Follow these steps to hide a picture on the BlackBerry smartphone:

  1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Media.
  2. Go to Pictures.
  3. Open the picture desired to hide.
  4. Press the Menu key and click Properties.
  5. Select the Hidden check box and click Close.

Follow these steps to unhide a picture on the BlackBerry smartphone:

If the picture is in Device Memory,

  1. Click Device Memory.
  2. Click home.
  3. Click user.
  4. Click pictures.
  5. Press the Menu key and click Show Hidden.
  6. Hidden pictures will display dimmed.
  7. Highlight the hidden picture.
  8. Press the Menu key and click Properties.
  9. Uncheck the Hidden check box and click Close.

BlackBerry Device Software 4.5:

Follow these steps to hide a picture on the BlackBerry smartphone:

  1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Media.
  2. Go to Pictures.
  3. Once in pictures, it may be required to click on My Pictures.
  4. Open the picture desired to hide.
  5. Press the Menu key and click Properties.
  6. Select the Hidden check box and click Close.

Follow these steps to unhide a picture on the BlackBerry smartphone:

  1. Click Media.
  2. Press the Menu key and click Explore.

If the picture is in Device Memory,

  1. Click Device Memory.
  2. Click home.
  3. Click user.
  4. Click pictures.
  5. Press the Menu key and click Show Hidden.
  6. Hidden pictures will display dimmed.
  7. Highlight the hidden picture.
  8. Press the Menu key and click Properties.
  9. Uncheck the Hidden check box and click Close.
