Android Apps Already Running on Some BlackBerry Smartphones?

01 In January 2011, we heard a rumor that BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet and upcoming QNX-based smartphones would have the ability to run Android Apps, but have you heard that some BlackBerry smartphones are already running Android Apps? Now, according to ShopSavvy’s flurry logs, they have already run their Android App on various BlackBerry devices. Here are the details:

  • BlackBerry 8300 ran ShopSavvy on January 31, 2011
  • BlackBerry 8600 ran ShopSavvy on January 17 and 24, 2011
  • BlackBerry 8520 ran ShopSavvy on February 7, 2011
    I know this is just a rumor, but it might be possible to run Android Apps on BlackBerry devices in the not too distant future. What do you think?

BlackBerry App World Available In Over 100 Markets Now!

images Research In Motion (RIM) today announced that BlackBerry App World is now available in 27 additional markets worldwide. With today’s announcement, BlackBerry App World is now available in 101 markets. Users in these markets can view the catalogue of applications and purchase applications with their PayPal account or a credit card – and they now have access to over 18,000 applications to make their BlackBerry smartphones experience even more amazing.

Here are the new 27 markets (in alphabetical order):
