"We’ll also Support Android Apps” Heard during a BlackBerry PlayBook Demo at MWC 2011

We have heard of a lot of rumors that BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet would have the ability to run Android Apps, but none is officially confirmed by RIM. However, in this video, if you listen carefully (around the 0:14 second mark), you will hear the person saying “We’ll also supports Android Apps”. This is more or less authentic though it is also not confirmed. After all, it is a bold statement being made during Mobile World Congress without some sort of back-up information. What do you think?

At Mobile World Congress 2011, RIM has showed us a video to demonstrate the great feature of the new BlackBerry PlayBook ‘Scrapbook’ App built by The Astonishing Tribe. This fun App is shows off the performance of the BlackBerry PlayBook platform and demonstrates the advanced four-finger multi-touch controls and rich graphics in the above video.

Among which, the first great news is that two more BlackBerry 4G PlayBook tablet models – LTE and HSPA+ networks are on the way and will be coming to RIM’s tablet family during the second half of 2011.

2. Mobile hotspots (ie. a MiFi, smartphone or other portable device equipped to act as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot)
3. BlackBerry Bridge
