February 23rd, 2011

Twitter04 RIM has launched the beta version 1.1 of Twitter for BlackBerry through BlackBerry Beta Zone. The update adds a lot of new features based on users’ suggestions.

Here are the changes in Twitter for BlackBerry v1.1:

  • @mention Push Notifications – Users are now alerted with push notifications to the ribbon when they have @mentions, helping users quickly reply to @mentions
  • Direct Messages – Renamed “Messages,” direct messages are now threaded in the style of BBM conversations. Related messages are grouped together, making the direct message area less cluttered

  • New Gesture Support – BlackBerry smartphone users with a touch screen device can now refresh page content by simply dragging a finger down the device screen and releasing it
  • Additional language support – New languages supported include Polish and Czech

CTIA 2010: Twitter for BlackBerry Available March 31st

March 23rd, 2010

twitterforblackberrybeta2 After the keynote this morning I rolled by the BlackBerry booth and stumbled upon the Twitter pod. Only a few weeks ago it was rolled out as an invite-only beta, but if you still haven’t checked it out you won’t have to wait much longer. The beta has been going strong and although the results are mixed, everyone who hasn’t yet had a chance to play with RIM’s own Twitter client will surely be itching to get a hold of it in just over a week. Thats all we know for now, so keep it locked here and we’ll bring you more details if anything pops up.
