Home Screen Tips for BlackBerry Smartphones Running OS 6.0

6.0 Here are some BlackBerry 6 Home Screen Tips from RIM that help save your time:

  • To automatically launch Universal Search, start typing or select the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the home screen
  • To add an icon to the Favorites view, select the icon and press and hold the trackpad, then click on Mark as Favorite from the pop-up menu
  • For quick access to Manage Connections, Alarm and Options screens, select the top of the Home Screen
  • To easily view your most recent messages (such as email, text, BlackBerry® Messenger), phone calls, upcoming appointments, Facebook® and Twitter® notifications simply select the Notification Bar directly below the clock on the Home Screen
  • To easily access your contacts, you can add them to the Home Screen:
    • In the Contacts application, highlight the contact you want to add
    • Press the Menu key
    • Select Add to Home Screen, then Add

BlackBerry OS 6.0 Now Available for BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 and Bold 9650 from Verizon

Verizon BlackBerry OS 6.0 has been officially released for the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 and Bold 9650 from Verizon. Anyone with either of the devices from Verizon Wireless can get the update now with your BlackBerry Desktop Manager by visiting “www.blackberry.com/update” or Over the Air (OTA) by selecting ‘Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update’.

This updated OS includes an updated UI, new WebKit browser, universal search, social feeds, and an engaging multimedia experience.

Introduction of BlackBerry Maps 6.0

BB Maps 6.0 As BlackBerry users, it is usually very comfortable with a BlackBerry map on hand for navigating. And RIM just posted a news in its official blog that the new version 6.0 of BlackBerry Maps was released together with the BlackBerry OS 6.0. It is really an excited news. Here are some great features added in BlackBerry Map 6.0:

  • More information (such as: hospitals, parking, and shopping centers) is included in this new high-quality maps. And there is also higher road density that fills out the gaps at some zoom levels;
  • Search engine in BlackBerry Maps 6.0 has been optimized to assist us to find the destination (if it is a specific place or address);
  • BlackBerry Maps 6.0 integrates with the new Universal Search feature in the BlackBerry 6.0 OS;
  • Pinch-to-zoom feature has been incorporated in BlackBerry Maps 6.0 with the power of BlackBerry 6.0 OS and its touch screen support;
  • BlackBerry Maps will always know where we’re located, as long as we have cell service and a view of the sky;
  • The UI for BlackBerry Maps 6.0 has been optimized for the best possible experience;
